In the fourth quarter of 2024, the carpooling and ridesharing landscape in Nigeria saw varied performances on the Android platform. Here's a closer look at the top five apps based on data from Sensor Tower.

inDrive. Rides with fair fares experienced a notable increase in weekly downloads, starting from approximately 25K in early October and peaking at about 34K by the end of December. Active users also saw a significant rise, starting from around 445K and reaching over 589K mid-December, before a slight drop to 444K at the end of the quarter.

Bolt: Request a Ride maintained a steady download trend, with numbers ranging from approximately 19K to 27K throughout the quarter. Active users showed a consistent increase, reaching a peak of nearly 2M in mid-December before declining to 1.5M by the end of the year.

Uber - Request a ride saw gradual growth in downloads, starting at around 3.7K and climbing to 8.1K by late December. Active users grew from 314K to a peak of 400K in mid-December, with a slight decline to 313K by the quarter's end.

For Uber - Driver: Drive & Deliver, weekly downloads fluctuated between 2.3K and 3.3K, with active users remaining relatively stable, hovering around 20K throughout the quarter.

LagosRide - Share cost of ride showed modest download growth, beginning at 862 and rising to 1.8K. Active users saw a varied trend, starting at 10K, dipping mid-quarter, and rebounding to approximately 9.3K by the end of December.
